The Economic Development Zone of Jiande was approved to be establishment by the Peoples Government of Zhejiang Province in May 2002. A window of Jiandes opening-up to the outside, a vehicle of overseas fund attraction, an incubator of new and high technology, and a highlight in the urban development of the City, the Zone follows a brand-new system of acceptance upon a single request, one-stop administrative handling, and integrated service. The Zone is under the responsibility of two offices, Chengdong Development Office and Shouchang Development Office, among which the former is mainly responsible for the development and construction of Yangxi Scientific and TechnologicalPark and AnrenOverseasInvestmentPark, and the latters development area is planned to take up 13.6 square kilometers.

Six kilometers to the east of where the City Government of Jiande lies, Yangxi Park is planned to take up an area of 8 square kilometers, and focuses on the development of finance, commerce, trade, tourism and housing as well as technology-intensive industrial projects in the process of the eastward expansion of Xinanjiang Town according to the overall planning of the City.

Standing at the northern side of the enchanting Xinanjiang River, YangxiPark has geographical superiorities owing to its beautiful natural environment of neighboring the mountains and river and to its convenient and fast transport. Thanks to the perennial 14-17 oC water temperature of the Xinanjiang River, Yangxi Park is perennially under a sub-environment of warm winters and cool summers, and its water supply is the circulating water straight from the headwater of the Qiandaohu Lake. In it are different functional areas, including finance, commerce and trade, tourism and vacation, villas and apartment building, technological industry, and so forth. Under construction though, focusing on the development of electronic, IT, new material, machining industrial enterprises which are of no or little pollution, YangxiPark has already found in it more than 10 enterprises one after another.

Anren Overseas InvestmentPark

AnrenPark is located in QiantanTown, JiandeCity, with a planned area of 2 square kilometers. It focuses on the solicitation of businesses from Taiwan, China, and other parts of the world, and on the development of foreign-exchange-earning industrial projects. Watching the northeastern gate of the City, it is 92 kilometers away from HangzhouCity proper, less than 100 kilometers from XiaoshanInternationalAirport and HangzhouPort, and less than 10 kilometers from TongluCounty proper, thus having very convenient and fast landway and waterway transports. Apart from its sufficient power supply, it is also capable of centralized heating and furnished with complete infrastructure such as water supply and communication. It has, to date, primarily completed its Phase I development and construction, and is expected to be developed into a rather large characterized processing park in future.

Shouchang Development Zone

With its superior geographic location and convenient and fast transport, Shouchang Development Zone has a three-dimensional traffic network composed of landway, railway and airway. The Jinhua-Qiandaohu Railway runs through it to connect Zhejiang-Jiangxi and Jinhua-Wenzhou Railways before meeting with the national railway artery, the National Highway No. 320 and 330 meets at the heart of the Zone, enabling it to be a transferring hub to Hangzhou, Jinhua and Quzhou, and the QiandaohuAirport is under construction, completion at hand.

Shouchang now has more than 200 enterprises, mainly in building materials, metallurgy, textile and garments, and agricultural products processing, and is planning to set up a large comprehensive market for building materials and agricultural products in its endeavor to gradually develop the it Shouchang Development Zone into an influential industrial and logistic center.
